On this day of football (at least in America), the idea of competition is coming through loud and clear. And those of us who support sports teams of any kind are familiar with the sense of drama, increased excitement, and passion that goes along with cheering for your team. Competition is a motivator, a driver, an impetus towards action.
I say: Become a competitor.
I use my competitive spirit to get things all the time. They can be weird and kooky, but it works. One of the things I do is to race against the timer. If I am warming up my lunch in the microwave, I use the minutes until my food is ready to complete some task like putting away dishes or folding laundry. It becomes like a game, and I get little things done fast.
Or, at the gym, compete against your last time, or do a longer distance in the same time.
Granted, this tip works best with people who have a competitive spirit, but anyone can benefit. Try it!
